About Talia Dahms, L.Ac.
Talia Dahms, L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in Encinitas, CA. She graduated summa cum laude from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, where she earned a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). A San Diego native, she grew up playing competitively in softball and volleyball, and currently she cultivates a personal yoga practice to stay healthy. As an undergraduate student, she spent a semester abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France, which led to several years of international work and travel after completing her BA in French. This international exposure introduced her to alternative and Chinese Medicine, after which she began her studies to receive her MSTOM. After four intense years of study, she became licensed by the California Acupuncture Board, and currently practices in Encinitas, CA where she lives with her husband and two children.
Talia creates a unique and customized treatment experience for each and every patient. Acupuncture is an effective and natural approach to health that she feels should be at the core of one's road to recovery. She believes in working as an integrative team with other physicians and practitioners you are in the care of to reach your therapeutic goals. In her treatments, she combines traditional channel theory (zang-fu), motor point therapy, tui na (Chinese massage), cupping, gua sha, and electro-stimulation.
She sees herbal medicine is an important resource for restoring one's health, and utilizes herbal prescriptions in conjunction with acupuncture to balance the body from within.
She also creates customized, topical herbal treatments to rejuvenate and nourish one's skin, as well as herbal liniments and poultices to aid in a quicker recovery from injuries. She sees nutrition as being at the center of one's road to inner balance, and emphasizes a healthy and holistic approach to food to reach optimal health.
